A PLACE TO WINE, A PLACE TO DINE

OUR STORY

We warmly welcome you to the Himalayan Kitchen restaurant. Himalayan means “Mountains”. The Nepali and Indian kitchen relies on the age-old art of mixing herbs and spices. Just as ancient is the strict preparation criteria that vary according to climate, products available in a certain region, religion and culture.

Besides the written and unwritten laws of the Nepali and Indian kitchen, we try to also let you encounter the unique taste of our own kitchen. We developed this taste over the years we have already been working in Amsterdam. Our chef cook has an exceptional culinary talent and uses fresh ingredients, unique and refined spice combinations, and an impeccable preparation manner to provide you with a freshly-prepared meal.

You can indicate your desired spice level, and our cooks will ensure that the dishes are prepared accordingly.

Thank you very much for trusting our food. We promise to provide high-quality meals for you as well as outstanding customer service for every transaction.

    Must have dish

One of the most popular dumplings is mildly spiced with onions, ginger, garlic & spices and served with homemade sauce (sesame seed and cherry tomatoes).

All the components for the momos should be combined in a big basin. To develop flavour, cover and leave aside for 10 to 15 minutes.

Put a steamer on high heat with water in the base. Six wrappers should be spread out on the bench. Moisten the top edge of each wrapper with a damp finger. Each wrapper should have a half-flat tablespoon of the mixture in the centre, which you should nearly fold in half. Make a few pleats on one side, gradually draw the sides together from one end, and curve the MO:MO:, so it rests upright. Another classic design is a moneybag with a tiny steam vent in the middle of the top. Use the leftover wrappers and filling to repeat.

    Small Bite

Deep-fried mixed vegetables in a light, fragrant batter (chickpeas flour) and Jwaano (lovage seeds)

This is Nepalese-style street food. Pakora is small, crispy vegetable fritter that is commonly served as an appetiser at Indian restaurants outside of India and Nepal. Before being fried until crunchy, they are brimming with exquisite Indian spices.
